PPF technology has evolved rapidly over the past years, except that in most cases it still needs to be maintained. Like other exterior automotive surfaces, PPF is constantly exposed to the elements and becomes degraded and contaminated over time. Dullness, yellowing and reduced surface slickness is the result.
The remedy is thorough decontamination followed by a decent polishing as well as a modern type of protection against the effects of weather, e.g. a coating.
