COLOURLOCK Degreaser 250 ml is a solvent-free cleaning product for thorough degreasing of leather surfaces. It removes grease and old care residue without dissolving the existing leather colour.

A grease-free surface is essential when Leather Fresh, Fluid Leather or other repair products need to adhere afterwards. Degreaser is suitable for all leather types and imitation leather, but must be used especially sparingly on open-pored leather.

Application

Test the product on a hidden area for visual and tactile changes.
Apply Degreaser to a clean, dry cloth and wipe over greasy areas.
Plain smooth leather can be degreased thoroughly after a successful test.
Treat open-pored leather only with a barely damp cloth and allow it to air dry between passes. Do not use a hair dryer.

Suitable for and important notes

For smooth leather, open-pored leather and imitation leather when applied in a material-appropriate way. The container holds 250 ml.

Important: Use especially sparingly on aniline leather, suede and nubuck to avoid marks or staining. Apply suitable care and protection after cleaning.

COLOURLOCK Degreaser 250 ml - detailed application instructions

Preparation

Degreaser is solvent-free and suitable for all leather types, including artificial leather. Single-colour, surface-coloured smooth leather can be treated more thoroughly than open-pored aniline leather or suede.
First remove surface dust and water-soluble contamination with a suitable cleaner, then allow the leather to dry.
Provide good ventilation, wear protective gloves and use a clean, dry cloth.
Test on a hidden spot for colour transfer, rings and material compatibility.

Step-by-step application

Apply Degreaser to the cloth, not directly to the leather surface.
Wipe greasy areas on surface-coloured smooth leather evenly. Turn the cloth frequently to a clean side.
On open-pored aniline leather or suede, use the cloth only mist-damp and work very carefully to avoid stains and rings.
Allow treated areas to air-dry completely without using a hairdryer.
After drying, check whether dark greasy areas remain. Perform another controlled pass if required.
Before bonding, colouring or sealing, use an adhesive-tape test to check whether the surface is sufficiently grease-free.

Aftercare and maintenance

After cleaning only, use a conditioner or protection suitable for the leather type.
For a repair process, continue only when the surface is completely dry.

Important information

The product is solvent-free. Do not dry with a hairdryer and protect it from frost and heat.
Excess product can create visible rings or colour changes on open-pored leather.
