ABRALON is a unique specialty product for finishing. ABRALON reduces conventional polishing processes to a minimum, resulting in significant time savings and cost reductions.

Typical applications include high-gloss paints, solid surface materials, and gel coats. The construction of ABRALON consists of the abrasive mesh, foam center, and hook-and-loop backing. The abrasive grains are attached to the mesh. The openings in the abrasive mesh allow water and air to move freely around the abrasive grains when the surface is sanded. ABRALON is excellent for curved surfaces, corners, and sharp edges. In dry sanding, the abrasive mesh moves continuously, preventing the buildup of sanding dust. Surface cleaning is easily achieved with compressed air.

When ABRALON is used for wet sanding, the open-cell structure pushes water into the foam center through the openings in the abrasive mesh when compressed. As the foam expands again, it absorbs the liquid. The constant movement of water in and out keeps the product clean, thus extending its service life.
