COLOURLOCK GLD-Solvent Pen 40 ml - precise GLD application for leather repairs

The COLOURLOCK GLD-Solvent Pen 40 ml applies GLD-Solvent precisely to small areas through a felt tip. It is used in professional repair work when dye transfer or existing coatings need to be dissolved locally.

The pen can also help smooth dried COLOURLOCK Fluid Leather repairs. It slightly dissolves the upper layer so that the repair can be reshaped carefully.

Application

  1. Open the cap and press the felt tip down carefully several times until it is moistened.
  2. Blot excess onto a cloth and guide the pen over the target area with minimal pressure.
  3. Allow the surface to dry between passes and repeat only if required.
  4. When changing colours or if the tip is dirty, remove the felt tip and reinsert it reversed.

For small, targeted leather cleaning and repair tasks. Contents: 40 ml.

Important: Use very sparingly. Excess GLD can blur repairs or dissolve the existing colour finish. For experienced users only.

COLOURLOCK GLD-Solvent Pen 40 ml - detailed application instructions

Preparation

  • Use only if a suitable Leather Cleaner has failed to remove the transferred discolouration.
  • The GLD-Solvent Pen is a solvent product for experienced users. Do not continue if the leather type is unknown or the coating is unstable.
  • Wear protective gloves, provide good ventilation and prepare a clean microfibre cloth plus Leather Cleaner to stop the reaction.
  • Test with the smallest possible amount on a hidden spot. GLD can dissolve the Top Coat and pigment layer.

Step-by-step application

  1. Briefly touch the felt tip to a clean part of the microfibre cloth so that only a small amount of GLD is transferred. Do not apply it directly to the leather.
  2. Treat only the affected spot using very low pressure and short, controlled movements.
  3. Inspect after every short pass. Stop immediately if colour transfers to the cloth or the surface becomes duller.
  4. Interrupt the dissolving action with a suitable Leather Cleaner and carefully pick up residue.
  5. Allow the area to dry completely and inspect it in good light.
  6. Do not continue if the colour layer has been visibly affected. The colour and protective coating must then be professionally renewed.

Aftercare and maintenance

  • Only after complete drying, assess whether recolouring, Top Coat and a suitable protective treatment are required.
  • Do not continue rubbing or use further solvents until the surface has been fully restored.

Important information

  • GLD removes more than transferred discolouration and can deliberately dissolve the existing colour and coating layers.
  • Follow the label and safety data sheet. Keep away from ignition sources and do not inhale vapour.
  • Protect from frost and heat and keep out of reach of children.
