ZviZZer Thermo Microfiber Pad - fibre pad for universal polishing work on suitably sized panels

ZviZZer Thermo Microfiber Pad combines pure microfiber on dampening thermo foam with a heat-stable ZviZZer thermo base. Compared with conventional foam pads, the mechanical fibre action is the main performance factor. It is especially useful for fast one-step correction with a clean finish.

The size is suited to universal polishing work on suitably sized panels. It gives better pressure control without treating unnecessarily large areas. The thermo base stabilises the pad under heat and improves consistency during longer polishing cycles.

Use and recommendation

Use the pad with a suitable cutting or one-step polish and keep the product amount controlled. Blow out the pad regularly during heavy correction so paint residue does not affect the finish. Buy ZviZZer Thermo Microfiber Pad at carparts.koeln and match fibre correction to panel size and paint hardness.

How to use ZviZZer polishes and polishing pads

The right combination of polish, pad and technique helps remove paint defects and achieve your desired finish. The following steps explain machine polishing with ZviZZer. Also follow the individual product instructions for suitable surfaces, machines, operating speeds and working temperatures.

1. Clean and prepare the paint

Wash the vehicle thoroughly and remove bonded contamination. Use suitable specialist cleaners or detailing clay if needed. Dry the paint and work on a clean, cool surface in the shade. Mask sensitive plastic trim, rubber seals and vulnerable edges.

Polish only suitable gloss paintwork. Do not polish matte paint or matte wraps to a shine. Only polish fresh paint after approval from the paint shop. Very deep scratches cannot always be removed safely; preserve the remaining paint if in doubt.

2. Match the polish and pad to the defects

Choose the polish according to its cutting ability and pair it with a suitable pad. Heavier defects require more correction, while fine marks call for a gentler combination. Start with the less aggressive option on unfamiliar paint and check the result on a small test spot.

Pad colours apply within the respective ZviZZer range. Follow the hardness, material and product description. Foam, wool and microfibre pads are not automatically interchangeable.

With Speed Polish and UFO pads, correction is controlled primarily through the pad: grey is hard, white is medium and bordeaux is soft. All three combinations can deliver correction and high gloss in one stage. With other ZviZZer compounds, further refinement depends on the polish and the finish achieved.

3. Prepare the pad and polishing machine

Use a clean, dry, undamaged pad suitable for your machine type. Centre hook-and-loop pads on a compatible backing plate and check the attachment with the machine switched off. Observe the permitted speeds of the machine, pad and backing plate; never exceed the lowest limit.

Use a separate pad for each polish. This prevents coarse abrasive residue from contaminating a later finishing stage.

4. Apply the polish to the paint and spread it evenly

Shake the closed polish bottle thoroughly before use. Apply the polish sparingly in small dots directly onto the clean, dry paint. Spread the dots into a thin, even film across the prepared starting spot, approximately matching the size of your pad. If spreading the polish with a fingertip, wear a clean protective glove in accordance with the product instructions.

Never apply the polish directly to the pad. An evenly spread film on the paint provides the basis for even distribution when you start. When more polish is needed, apply it sparingly to the paint and spread it there before placing the pad back on the surface. Do not mix different compounds or dilute the polish unless the manufacturer specifically instructs you to do so.

5. Polish a test spot with crosshatch passes

With the machine switched off, place the pad on the evenly spread polish film. Start at a low setting and work on a small test spot first. Then use a setting suitable for the product and work in steady, overlapping passes: first horizontally, then vertically.

Keep flat pads as level as possible and the machine moving. Use shaped pads on their intended working face. Take particular care around edges and curves. Avoid excessive pressure; on free-spinning dual-action machines, do not press hard enough to stall backing plate rotation.

No single polishing time or machine speed applies to every product. Paint, defects, pad, polish and machine determine the technique required. Do not work the polish until dry, and pause to inspect your progress.

6. Monitor temperature and pad condition

Check paint and pad temperature regularly during work. If heat builds up, stop and allow them to cool, or switch to a clean, cool pad. Thermo pads also require a controlled technique.

Regularly remove accumulated polish and paint residue using a cleaning method suitable for the pad. Clean or replace clogged pads rather than adding more and more polish.

7. Wipe off residue and inspect the result

Switch off the machine while the pad is still resting on the paint. Wait until it stops, then lift it straight off. Remove the polish residue with a clean, soft microfibre cloth using light pressure. Turn the cloth regularly to a clean side.

Inspect the surface under a suitable inspection light from several angles. If correction and gloss meet your requirements, continue section by section with the same combination. If defects remain, check the pad and your technique, then test a stronger combination if needed and if the paint permits further removal.

8. Complete the finish and protect the paint

Follow coarse pre-compounds with a suitable finer polish and a separate, clean pad. One-step products may achieve the desired finish in a single polishing stage. Judge the result by inspecting your own paintwork.

If the polish contains integrated protection, you can leave this on the paint. After using a polish without protective ingredients, apply suitable paint protection as required. Before applying a coating, remove polishing oils, residue and existing protective ingredients using a suitable surface preparation as specified by the coating manufacturer.

9. Clean and store the polishing pads

After use, clean the pads with a pad cleaner suitable for their material and follow its application instructions. Allow wet-cleaned pads to dry completely without direct heat before using them again. Store them clean, dry and protected from dust. Replace damaged pads or pads with a separating hook-and-loop backing.
