COLOURLOCK Leather Fixative 1 L - fix leather colours before washing

COLOURLOCK Leather Fixative 1 L is used to fix bleeding leather colours before washing leather garments and suitable leather items. It is applied as a pre-treatment in a separate water bath.

Leather Fixative can also be used to treat water marks and stains on natural and aniline leather. The 1 litre container is suitable for repeated professional use.

Application

Test the product on a hidden area and wear suitable protective gloves.
Add about 50 ml Fixative to 5 to 10 litres of lukewarm water. Use about 100 ml for a complete motorcycle suit.
Immerse the leather item completely and soak for at least 60 minutes, moving it occasionally.
Allow it to drain and continue with the appropriate washing process without rinsing first.

Suitable for and important notes

For suitable washable leather items, multicoloured leather, leather-textile combinations and targeted treatment of natural or aniline leather. Contents: 1 litre.

Important: Use only in a separate water bath, not directly in the washing machine. Avoid skin contact and keep out of reach of children.

COLOURLOCK Leather Fixative 1 L - detailed application instructions

Preparation

Leather Fixative is used before washing suitable leather. Check the garment care label and the complete COLOURLOCK washing instructions first.
Work only in a sufficiently large tub. Do not perform the fixing step directly in the washing machine.
Test colourfastness on a hidden spot. Have strongly multi-coloured, fragile or unknown-tanned leather professionally assessed.
Wear protective gloves and prepare 5 to 10 litres of lukewarm water.

Step-by-step application

Shake the bottle thoroughly.
For a typical garment, add 50 ml Leather Fixative to 5 to 10 litres of lukewarm water.
For a complete motorcycle suit, add 100 ml Leather Fixative to 5 to 10 litres of lukewarm water.
Distribute the Fixative evenly in the water.
Fully immerse the leather in the solution. Every area must be covered and wetted through.
Leave it to soak for at least 60 minutes and move the leather gently from time to time.
Then allow the solution to drain away. Do not rinse the leather with clear water after the fixing bath.
Continue immediately in the washing machine according to the complete COLOURLOCK leather washing instructions.

Aftercare and maintenance

Carry out drying, reshaping and later conditioning exactly according to the relevant leather washing instructions.
Inspect the leather regularly while drying and do not place it on a radiator or in high heat without manufacturer approval.

Important information

The 50 ml or 100 ml dosage relates to 5 to 10 litres of water and must not be confused with detergent dosage.
Protect from frost and excessive heat. Follow the label and safety information.
