COLOURLOCK Elephant Leather Oil 250 ml is a natural care product for smooth leather. The oil keeps suitable leather supple and soft, protects and waterproofs the surface and supports regular maintenance.

Elephant Leather Oil is applied thinly and evenly. On dry leather, treatment can be repeated after the first application has been fully absorbed.

Application

  1. Clean the leather, allow it to dry completely and test on a hidden area.
  2. Shake the bottle before use.
  3. Apply a small amount of Elephant Leather Oil to a soft cloth and spread evenly in circular motions.
  4. Flex or work the leather where possible. On dry leather, repeat after the first application has been fully absorbed.

Important: Do not over-apply and always test suitability on a hidden area. Protect from frost and heat.

Preparation

  • Check the leather type and suitability. Elephant Leather Oil is intended for suitable smooth leather and can visibly deepen the colour.
  • Clean the leather thoroughly with a material-appropriate method and allow it to dry completely.
  • Test colour darkening, feel and absorption on a hidden spot.
  • Shake the bottle vigorously. Prepare a clean, soft cloth.

Step-by-step application

  1. Place a small amount of oil on the cloth rather than creating a puddle directly on the leather.
  2. Spread the oil thinly and evenly over the complete continuous area using circular movements.
  3. Where possible, gently flex or work the leather during treatment so dry fold areas are reached evenly.
  4. Do not soak seams, edges or recesses with oil.
  5. Allow the leather to absorb the product, then inspect for uneven, excessively wet or dry areas.
  6. Apply another thin coat only if the leather remains dry and absorbent after the first treatment.
  7. Evenly distribute or remove surface excess with a clean cloth.

Aftercare and maintenance

  • Maintain regularly but sparingly and assess the leather's absorption before every repeat treatment.
  • Use or store the leather only after the product has been fully absorbed and the surface is dry.

Important information

  • Do not use on light, open-pored or colour-sensitive leather without testing.
  • Over-oiling can darken the surface, make it soft and greasy, or stress seams.
