🔧 Breathable polishing foam for lower polishing temperatures

The block material of the thermo-foam is, before further processing into a polishing pad, among other things thermally gassed and vacuum-treated so that the cell membranes are literally blown away. This process, called reticulation, gives the foam increased breathability and enables optimal temperature control. A lower temperature improves the polishing result and increases process reliability.

Because of the open cells, the pad’s cooling is improved and the polishing compound can penetrate into the polishing foam. With a lower polishing temperature it is possible to achieve a streak-free result much faster. This is an important characteristic of a high-quality polishing foam that is easy to check. The airflow through the foam can be tested by blowing into the polishing foam and checking for bubbles.
